Gadsden, Alabama

Being from here I thought I would dedicate a page or so to the Gadsden area.

I have a love hate relationship with this town.

Gadsden is a great place to live and a beautiful place.

As I sit here, I've re-written this page several times. I really wanted to tell you all

about the jobs here (or lack thereof) and a few other gripes I have....

We won't go there since it will just make people mad. :)

I will mention a few good things about the area.

Noccalula Falls is beautiful and a great place to visit.

The Coosa river is full of activity (and good fishing) during the spring and summer months.

The world's longest yard sale ends in Gadsden (Or it starts here, I forget.)

There are several, really good, locally owned restaurants in the area.

If you're just visiting you have to eat at Top O' The River.

(located on Rainbow Drive (also known as hwy 411) about 1 mile from the mall)

Another favorite of mine is a small place called Charlie and Casie's.

(located in the Food World shopping center in Rainbow City)

There are several Mexican Restaurants in the area as well.

All are very good.

If you do visit Gadsden, or decide to live here, you won't be eating at Outback or shopping at Home Depot.

(Other, smaller towns, can have these but for some reason we can't.)

If you're looking to camp in the area the River Country campground will put you as close to the river as you can get.

Here is a link to old postcards from the Gadsden area.

If you want to comment, add something or just complain you can email me.

I intend to start a blog about Gadsden in the near future. When I do I will post a link to it here.
